KUALA LUMPUR – Applications for foreign worker quotas are open until Dec 31, 2025, covering agriculture, plantation and mining (all subsectors), as well as 10 service subsectors including wholesale, retail, security, restaurants and cleaning. Construction recruitment is limited to government projects, while manufacturing is restricted to new MIDA-approved investments. Applications must be submitted by sector agencies and will be screened by the Foreign Workers Technical Committee. The current cap of 2.47 million workers (15%) stays until year-end before a new 10% ceiling takes effect in 2026.
